I have interests in mysticism and literature and have published a book on the metaphor of alchemical regeneration in the work of Edward Taylor, Edgar Allan Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Margaret Fuller.
My current project, “Outlaw Territory,” examines the theme of radical individualism and freedom in early American literature.
