Wesley College Celebrates Winter Commencement

Eight Named To D3football All-Region Teams
Eight Wesley College football players were named to D3football.com All-Region Teams, it was announced by the website on Tuesday afternoon. Offensive lineman Brian Cranmer, as well as defensive end Devin Hardy, linebacker Sosthene Kapepula and safety Jared Morris all received first team recognition. Also receiving All-Region honors was second team center Tim Putman, while quarterback Justin Sottilare, defensive tackle Terence Gavin and kicker Dan Tryon received third team recognition.
Men’s Track & Field Sweeps CAC Weekly Honors
Wesley College freshmen Corey Jones and Lamar Monroe have been named the Capital Athletic Conference Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first time that the Wolverines have swept both weekly honors since the track & field program began in the 2007-08 season.
Wesley College performs 'Amahl and the Night Visitors' at Schwartz Center
Wesley College presented Gian Carlo Menotti's "Amahl and the Night Visitors" Nov. 29 at the Schwartz Center for the Arts. The opera, performed in English, tells the story of Amahl and his mother and the act of forgiveness that change their lives. The opera was directed by Wesley drama instructor, J. Denise Baker, with music direction by Wesley professor of music, Dr. James Wilson. The performance was funded in part of Kent County Fund for the Arts and Delaware Division of the Arts.
Wesley College Features Photography Exhibit
Wesley College hosted a reception for photographer Robert Gingher on November 29 in the Fluman Gallery located on the third floor in College Center. Gingher specializes in landscape, portrait, still life, and composite shots. His exhibit, the Inmost Light, will be on display until January 10.[more]
Wesley College Chemistry Department Participates in Family Science Adventure Day
The Delaware Section of the American Chemistry Society (DE-ACS) hosted a Family Science Adventure at the Independence School in Newark, Delaware November 3. The event’s goal is to make science exciting and interesting to younger children and allow parents and children to work together in fun hands-on activities that could possibly peak a kids future interest in science. Wesley Donates Record Number of Food
Wesley College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee collected and donated 1,155 pounds of food to the Food Bank of Delaware as part of the annual Capital Athletic Conference Challenge.
Men’s Hoops Wins Widener Tourney, Reynolds MVP
The Wesley College basketball team won the Widener Tip-Off for Autism Awareness Tournament at Skibo Gym. Paul Reynolds was named MVP.
#5 Football Mashes Mount Ida in NCAA 1st Round
Wesley College's fifth-ranked football team scored the second-most points in school-history in a 73-14 win over Mount Ida in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Scott D. Miller Stadium. The Wolverines (9-1) will take on Cortland St. in the Second Round of the National Tournament on Saturday, November 24 in a 12 pm kickoff.
