Senior placekicker Dan Tryon is one of 44 players to be named to the Fred Mitchell Award Watch List, it was announced Wednesday morning. The Fred Mitchell Award is awarded to the nation's top collegiate placekicker among more than 750 FCS, Division II, III, NAIA and NJCAA Football Teams.
Wesley College Director of Athletics Mike Drass has announced that Dayna Hinton will take over as head cheerleading coach for the 2012-13 season. The current dance director of Dream Allstars in Gaithersburg, Md., Hinton replaces Akia Jenkins who resigned earlier this summer.

Dr. Lucille Gambardella, recently retired Wesley College nursing chair, was recognized by The Delaware Nurses Association and Delaware Organization of Nurse Leaders on July 12 with the 2012 Academic Nurse Educator Award. Wesley College’s $2.5 million streetscape project to create a pedestrian-friendly, unified, true college campus in Dover’s historic district is on tract to open before students return for the 2012 fall semester, Wesley President Dr. William N. Johnston said.
Wesley College students should expect to feel a bit safer when they return next month for the 2012-13 school year. The Dover private college is undergoing a $2.7 million streetscape improvement project, which closes sections of North Bradford, Fulton and Cecil streets and several alleys in the immediate area and replaces them with sidewalks and pavers in an effort to create a more pedestrian friendly, campus-like atmosphere.
