Assistant Professor of Music
Why I Teach:"There is an ever present need to teach the importance of keeping arts and music alive in our communities. If students learn the value of singing in a choir, playing an instrument or attending a concert while they are in college, they are more likely to live a life of cultural awareness, civic participation, and appreciation for the beauty in our world."

I direct both the College Choir and Gospel Choir at Wesley College. In recent years I have served as director of the Boston University Choral Society, the Kensington Consort of North Carolina, and the All Collegiate Choir-East of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In April 2010 I conducted a performance with the UNL Chamber Singers on the subject of my dissertation: Seth Bingham’s "The Canticle of the Sun," a piece which had not been heard by the public in nearly fifty years.
I currently serve as the Artistic Director of the Delaware Choral Society, a non-auditioned community chorus of approximately 80 members. Founded in 1959, the DCS's mission is to provide an outlet for the performance of choral masterworks in Kent County. I also serve as the Director of Music at Wesley United Methodist Church in downtown Dover. Previous positions in church music include the Cathedral of St. Joseph's in Hartford, Connecticut, Marsh Chapel at Boston University, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Trinity United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska.
As a baritone soloist I have appeared with the Manchester Choral Society of New Hampshire, the Braintree Choral Society, the Masterworks Chorale of Boston, The Marsh Chapel Choir at Boston University, the Choral Society of Greensboro, North Carolina, and the Voices of Omaha. In the spring of 2008 I appeared with the UNL University Singers at Carnegie Hall in a performance of Haydn’s Harmonie Messe. Each year at Wesley I have given a faculty voice recital at the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts with Ms. Britania Redington, an operatic soprano and Instructor of Voice at Wesley College.
