Professional Activities

During my time in graduate school, I was involved in research in deception, as well as attention and memory. I co-authored a number of articles and conference presentations that came out of that research. I continued some of that work after coming to Wesley College, in the form of a research article and conference presentation, made possible by faculty development grants from Wesley.

Due to an interest in promoting undergraduate research, I have also served as chair of the committee that organizes Scholars Day, an annual undergraduate research symposium here on campus. I presented, along with two of my current colleagues, some aspects of Scholars Day at a conference of the Association of American Colleges & Universities in Durham, NC. One goal of mine is to mentor more Psychology majors, helping them to carry out meaningful independent research projects that contribute to the field of Psychology.

In May 2013, I presented cross-disciplinary research on media use among college students at the Association for Psychological Science Annual Convention with Professor Victor Greto and Dr. Angela D'Antonio. Professor Greto and Dr. D'Antonio previously presented this information at the 2013 Annual Conference of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).
