Transfer Program

Wesley College welcomes undergraduate transfer applicants from two and four-year colleges and universities.  For transfer students, previous college work is the most important factor considered by the Office of Admissions when reviewing an applicant.

Admission of Transfer Students

Transfer students are accepted into the first-year, sophomore, and junior classes. Applicants with fewer than twenty-four credits must fulfill all requirements for admission to the first-year class. Applicants within this category should submit official high school records, including transcript(s) and SAT-1/ACT scores. Candidates for admission from accredited two-year colleges are judged by the same criteria as applicants from four-year institutions. Transfer students should request that official transcripts from all previously attended colleges be sent to Wesley College’s Office of Admissions.

Admission Procedures for Transfer Students

Transfer applications should be sent to the Office of Admissions with a non-refundable $25 application fee. Wesley College employs a rolling admissions policy. Students are encouraged to apply by April 1 for the fall semester and by October 1 for the spring semester.

Notifications of acceptance are generally mailed within one week of the receipt of all required materials.

Military personnel and veterans should submit official evidence of service school attendance for evaluation.

In order to be considered for admission, a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (C) for all acceptable transfer credits is required.

All prospective transfer students are encouraged to schedule a campus tour and personal interview with an admissions counselor to discuss their academic plans.

Accepted students must submit a confirmation deposit (and housing deposit, if applicable) before course registration.

Transfer Credit From Other Institutions

Students earn undergraduate course credits for courses taken at accredited colleges and universities. Military personnel and veterans also earn college credits from certain completed in-service course work and training.

Undergraduate course credits may be transferred from another accredited institution, provided the courses are 100-level or above and grades earned are C or higher.

All graduating students must earn a minimum of forty-five semester credits at Wesley College, at least fifteen of which must be within their major, in order to complete baccalaureate degree requirements.

Evaluation of transfer credits for applicability to specific degree programs is performed by the Office of the Registrar. The Vice President for Academic Affairs and Division Chairpersons may be consulted, when necessary, to approve particular credits. Accepted students will receive a copy of approved transfer credit evaluations.

Wesley has articulation agreements with many community and junior colleges. These agreements permit students who have earned the associate degree in specific programs to enroll as juniors at Wesley College.

Transfer Grants and Scholarships

Wesley College awards transfer scholarships and grants to full-time students based on cumulative college GPA. Contact the Office of Admissions to determine your eligibility.
