Overview
The Master of Science in Nursing program prepares a community based clinical
specialist with a focus in health promotion and wellness. This unique bridge
model accommodates diploma, associate, baccalaureate prepared nurses for
advanced practice nursing.
Master of Science in Nursing
The Master of Science Degree Program in Nursing is designed for the Registered
Nurse whose basic credential is a hospital school diploma or a college associate
degree in Nursing. This career mobility model MSN prepares the RN to assume
an advanced practice role in health promotion in a variety of settings.
Nurses with Baccalaureate degrees in Nursing or other fields, Nurses seeking
a second master's degree, and international Nurses are encouraged to apply
directly to the graduate component.

Admission Criteria
Current RN License
A 3.00 G.P.A. average in previous course work
Two (2) letters of recommendation validating evidence of personal and professional
qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year practice experience prior to beginning graduate
level courses
Interview
Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a NLN accredited
program (exceptions will be considered on an individual basis)
Post Master Certificate in Nursing Education
The Post Master Certificate in Nursing prepares an advanced practice nurse
to teach in a variety of educational settings. The format facilitates completion
with minimal interruption of employment. Courses in curriculum design, instructional
theory and opportunities for teaching practicum are all included in the
certificate process.
The Master of Science in Nursing program is fully accredited by the National
League for Accrediting Commission.
