Coming off a 54-0 victory at Concordia-Selma last Saturday, the Wesley College football team continues to be ranked fourth in both the American Football Coaches Association and D3football.com Top 25 Polls. The team is currently 6-0, which is their best start since the 2010 season.
Wesley College's Bryce Shade was named the ECAC Special Teams Player of the Week, following Wesley's 54-0 win against Concordia-Selma on October 11. Shade returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown and had another runback for 35 yards during the game.
Holden Wingate was named Wolverine of the Week on October 13. The senior midfielder scored two goals in the team's win over Southern Virginia, both coming off assists from Will Mileski.
Wesley College's Joe Callahan and Aamir Petrose were named the ECAC Division III Southwest Co-Offensive and Co-Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office on October 7. Callahan threw for 362 yards and totaled six touchdowns (5 pass, 1 rush) in Wesley's victory against Louisiana College. Petrose tallied five tackles and two sacks.
Aamir Peetrose was named Wolverine of the Week on October 6, following his performance in football's Homecoming victory against Louisiana College. The defensive end recorded five tackles and two sacks. He also broke up three passes and had two additional quarterback hurries in the game.
Wesley College's Kyle George and Aamir Petrose were both named to the D3football.com Team of the Week it was announced by the website on October 1. In Wesley's win against SVU, George caught seven passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns and Petrose had three sacks and broke up a pass.
Wesley tight end Kyle George was named the Wolverine of the Week on September 29. In football's win over Southern Virginia, he had seven catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns. He was also named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.
Wesley College Joe Callahan has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Sept. 23. This is the second time this season that Callahan has been named the ECAC Player of the Week.
Will Mileski had a hand in each Wesley College goal to lead the Wolverines men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Cairn University on Sept. 24 at Scott D. Miller Stadium, scoring once and assisting on two.
Morgan Warrington of the women's soccer team has been named the Wolverine of the Week after leading Wesley College to a perfect 3-0 record the week of Sept. 14-20. Warrington tallied a goal, five assists and a pair of saves in last week's victories.
