Wesley College Awarded $1.7 Million Grant

Wesley College has been awarded a $1.7 million IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) grant through National Instititutes of Health and National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIH-NIGMS). Callahan Named One of Four Finalists for Gagliardi Trophy

Wesley College's Joe Callahan, the nation's leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns, has been named as one of four finalists for the 2014 Gagliardi Trophy, given to the most outstanding football player in NCAA Division III, it was announced by Jostens and the J-Club of Saint John's University (Minn.) on December 9. Wesley College's fourth-ranked football team scored 21-straight points to end the game and defeat No. 7 Hobart, 41-13, on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Scott D. Miller Stadium. Freshmen Urgy Eado won the 500m Dash and Xaire Williams shattered the school-record in the shot put to lead the Wesley College men's track & field team to a third place finish at the season opening Ursinus Bowtie Classic. Wesley College's women's track & field team recorded five event victories and four school-records to finish third of 20 teams at the Ursinus Bow Tie Classic on December 6. AJ Tilghman scored a career-high 24 points as the Wesley College men's basketball team overcame a 17 point deficit to defeat Southern Virginia, 74-72, in overtime on December 6 at the Knights' Sports Arena. Stroud Named ECAC Rookie of the Week

Wesley College's Alexus Stroud has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office on December 2. This is the first ECAC award of Stroud's young career.
