Robinson Heads To Arena Bowl, Named All-AFL

Former Wesley College football standout Bryan Robinson had a big week as he was named First Team All-Arena and his Philadelphia Soul defeated the Jacksonville Sharks, 75-59, to earn a trip to Arena Bowl XXVI, which was played on August 17.

Wesley College Undergraduate Research Published

Two Wesley College students collaborated and researched a project that was published in the American Journal of Health Sciences. Ghada Alabed (biology, 2010) and Melissa Earley (mathematics, 2013) completed an undergraduate research project under the direction of Wesley Professor of Chemistry, Dr. Malcolm J. D’Souza. New Students Arrive at Wesley College

“Wally” the Wesley College wolverine mascot greeted many of the more than 600 new students representing 15 states, including Washington, California, Florida, and Wyoming on August 22. One-third of the new students are from Delaware. DNREC Honors Wesley Faculty Emeritus Terry Higgins

On July 25, Wesley College faculty emeritus Terry Higgins was honored by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control with the 2013 Delaware Wetland Warrior Award in recognition of his efforts in wetland preservation. Higgins taught science for 40 years at Wesley, retiring in 2000.

Wesley College Receives a Five-Year $1.8M NSF-EPSCoR Grant for Undergraduate Research

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) awarded a new five-year, $20-million Research Infrastructure Improvement (RII) grant to a consortium of higher education institutions in Delaware. Wesley College Receives Donation for Chapel Renovations

Hope United Methodist Church, located on Wesley College’s campus, donated $5,000 to the College on June 27. In conjunction with a larger alumni donation to renovate the church, the congregation provided the funds to offset the cost of a video projection system. “The renovations will provide much needed recital and worship space to the chapel,” said Wesley College President Dr. William N. Ten undergraduates complete NIH & NSF sponsored summer internships in chemistry at Wesley

Two long-term multi-institution interdisciplinary federal grants have been instrumental in growing the diverse STEM undergraduate research capacity at Wesley. Burris Named CAC Woman of the Year Nominee
