Kobasa Inducted Into BlueGold Hall of Fame

Wesley College head men's basketball coach Jerry Kobasa was inducted into the Blue Gold Basketball Hall of Fame at the 2013 Blue Gold All-Star Basketball Banquet, presented by Best Buddies at the Dover Downs Hotel & Conference Center on March 14.

Wesley College Faculty Promoted

Wesley College announced promotions for five faculty members: Professor Susan Redington Bobby, Dr. Jill Cole, Dr. Richard Kashmar, Dr. Cynthia Newton and Dr. Jamie Whitman-Smithe. Dr. Cole, Dr. Kashmar, and Dr. Whitman-Smithe were promoted to full professor. Professor Redington Bobby and Dr. Newton were both promoted to associate professor. Wesley College president committed to growing presence in Dover

Wesley College is strengthening its focus in the Dover area. The school has announced plans that include providing more classes at Dover Air Force Base and opening a new Health Sciences Building near Kent General Hospital. Four years ago, College President William Johnston mapped out Wesley’s path to increasing its presence in the state capital. They are well on their way to achieving that goal.

Reynolds, Lennon Headline All-CAC Awards

After helping Wesley College's men's basketball team set a program-record for wins, senior forward Paul Reynolds and freshman swingman Wayne Lennon have been named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, respectively, it was announced by the league office on February 26.

Wesley College Fraternity Supports Non-Profit

Wesley College’s Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity held a “car smash” fundraiser to raise money for leukemia and lymphoma research on February 22. Students paid $1 to take a few swings with a sledge hammer at a salvage car donated by Fitzgerald Salvage and Recycling. [more]

M&T Bank Supports Wesley's New Health Sciences Building

Wesley College received a $25,000 check from M&T Bank to support the new Health Sciences Building. The new facility will support the expansion of Wesley's highly-regarded nursing program and address the documented shortage of nurses throughout the region.
