On Friday, Nov. 15, the First Year Student Leadership Retreat commenced with a formal dinner and presentations from faculty members regarding leadership and what makes an effective leader. The retreat included a day trip on Saturday, Nov. 16 to Camp Pecometh in Centreville, MD. While at the camp the students learned about stress management and the influence they can have as leaders. The 63 freshmen who participated were pushed to work as a team in order to train, support, and encourage each other.
“The leadership retreat was extraordinary. I learned a lot about what it means to be leader and how to lead others. My favorite part was the challenge course because I really did have to challenge myself to achieve my goal. It was certainly memorable.” said Wesley freshman Courtney Gross.
