Wesley College Awarded $1.58 Million Funding
Wesley College was awarded $1.58 million from the Delaware Infrastructure Investment Committee to fund infrastructure improvements surrounding the Streetscape Project. The project will close off several cross streets through campus and build additional walkways and green areas in the center of campus making a more pedestrian-friendly, safer college grounds.
“We are so grateful for the support from the committee, State of Delaware, City of Dover and the community,” said Wesley College President Dr. William N. Johnston. “This project will greatly improve our campus environment and provide a pedestrian corridor leading into Downtown Dover. It is affirming to have the state recognize the significance that Wesley College has on Delaware's economy.”
The funding will assist Wesley bury power lines, cable and telephone wires and the infrastructure of the entire project. The project is scheduled to be completed by the early fall 2012.
