The purpose of the event was to publicly thank the many contributors involved in the 2.7 million dollar improvement project. “This was truly a community effort,” said Wesley College President Dr. William N. Johnston. The event featured speakers Governor Jack Markell, Lieutenant Governor Matthew Denn, Mayor Carleton E. Carey, Sr., Vice President of Becker Morgan Group Gregory V. Moore as well as President of the Student Government Association Bryan Zarou and community member and neighbor Sara Herbert and others. The new plazas have provided a more pedestrian-friendly and aesthetically pleasing campus environment. In addition to the enhanced safety features, students can enjoy Wi-Fi access, gathering space, additional lighting, outdoor outlets and a defined space that benefits students and the community at large.
