Wesley College hosted the cross-country “Generational Equity Tour,” presented by the non-partisan The Can Kicks Back campaign on Monday, November 4. The event included a screening of the documentary Overdraft, followed by a panel discussion that included the Hon. Michael Castle, former U.S. Representative and Governor of Delaware; Dr. Richard Bieker, economist at Delaware State University and Nick Troiano, co-founder of The Can Kicks Back. Moderated by Wesley College Associate Professor of Political Science, Dr. Cynthia Newton, the panel discussed how the federal budget and national debt are impacting the younger “millennial generation.”
The Can Kicks Back is a non-partisan campaign led by young people that advocates for a fiscally sustainable and generationally equitable federal budget. TCKB has 100+ chapters in 38 states across the country ready to mobilize young people to fight for their future and send their messages to Washington.
