Wesley College has partnered with the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) to create an internship program for the students of Wesley. The CDCC/Wesley College Internship Connect Program places undergraduates in internship positions allowing students the opportunity to experience and learn about various career fields, gaining valuable preparation in a professional setting.
“The program will help students develop worthwhile professional work place skills in environments that are conducive to a student’s field of study or future aspirations,” said Dr. Patricia Dwyer, vice president of Academic Affairs. “Students even have the opportunity to be considered for permanent employment if they complete their program requirements.”
CDCC has made 27 internship positions available through 21 different companies which are registered through the College and Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce Internship Connect Program. Maria Gabriela Cassis Aranguren, a business administration major and international student from Chile, has already been hired by Greater Dover Committee and CenDel Foundation located in Downtown Dover, where she had interned this semester. Wesley’s partnership with the CDCC partners with more than 800 businesses to help students find their niche in the professional world as well as making them more marketable.
