Wesley Professor Named Educator of the Year

Bayhealth named Wesley College Assistant Professor of Nursing Fairuz “Fai” Lutz the Kent General Outstanding Healthcare Educator of the Year in December 2013. A highly prestigious award, it is presented in honor of Geraldine Webb Palladino, who was one of the leading figures in encouraging professional development of hospital staff.

“We are proud of Fai for the recent recognition and the award she has received from  BayHealth Medical Center,” said Chair of the Nursing Department Dr. Robert Contino. “This honor  bestowed by them coupled with our new partnership with BayHealth will greatly benefit not only Fai, but also our students within the Department of Nursing.”

Apart from teaching nursing at Wesley, Lutz also works as a staff nurse for Kent General’s 2B Unit. Currently studying for her Ph.D., Lutz is a strong proponent of continuing to educate yourself in your field.
