Members of the Wesley Society and their guests gathered on the evening of January 11th for a reception and dinner at the Duncan Center as a way for the College to celebrate and recognize their generous support.
The fourth annual event was offered to Society members as an appreciation event, and the costs were fully underwritten by five individual and corporate sponsors. The generous sponsors included The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co., Becker Morgan Group, MSK Partners, Wilks, Lukoff & Bracegirdle, LLC–Attorneys at Law, and alumnus David and Kelly Blaeuer.
Current Wesley College students played an integral part in the event. During the reception, guests were able to mingle and meet 13 outstanding students who were selected to share their campus activities and scholastic accomplishments outlined on posters. “It is so rewarding to speak with the students and hear their stories, we always come away with a warm and good feeling,” said Wesley Society member Ginny Paul ’69.
During the program, the approximately 120 guests were treated to vocal performances by student Massiel Napolitano ’17 accompanied by Wesley Adjunct Professor Randi Robinson on piano and flutist Jennifer Willey.
The evening’s featured speakers were alumnus Larry Mercardante ’67 from Bay Shore, NY and current students Victoria Dunbar ’14 from Hockessin, DE and Christopher Fucetola ’14 from Havertown, PA. All shared the impact Wesley had on them as individuals.
As the event came to a close, Wesley Board of Trustees Chair Robert V.A. Harra Jr. presented outgoing Wesley Society President Gregory V. Moore with a token of appreciation for his tireless service to the College.
