In 2011, Wesley undergraduates Brett Sansbury (biological chemistry major) and Olivia Hampton (biology major) began their EPSCoR/INBRE supported summer internship in chemistry under the direction of Dr. Malcolm J. Senior placekicker Dan Tryon is one of 44 players to be named to the Fred Mitchell Award Watch List, it was announced Wednesday morning. The Fred Mitchell Award is awarded to the nation's top collegiate placekicker among more than 750 FCS, Division II, III, NAIA and NJCAA Football Teams.
Wesley College Director of Athletics Mike Drass has announced that Dayna Hinton will take over as head cheerleading coach for the 2012-13 season. The current dance director of Dream Allstars in Gaithersburg, Md., Hinton replaces Akia Jenkins who resigned earlier this summer.
For the third-straight season, Wesley College's football team is ranked third in the D3Football.com Preseason Poll. The Wolverines rank just behind top-ranked and defending National Champion, Wisconsin-Whitewater, and 2011 national runner-up Mount Union.
Dr. Lucille Gambardella, recently retired Wesley College nursing chair, was recognized by The Delaware Nurses Association and Delaware Organization of Nurse Leaders on July 12 with the 2012 Academic Nurse Educator Award.
