Wesley to Form Club Rugby Team in Fall 2015

Wesley College is pleased to announce that it will form a Club Rugby squad at the institution starting in the Fall 2015 semester. The club will join USA Rugby at that time and will look into a conference within USA Rugby with other like-institutions. Stroud Named ECAC Rookie of the Week

Wesley College's Alexus Stroud has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office February 3. This is the second time this year that Stroud has earned ECAC Rookie weekly honors. In a pair of Wolverines wins last week, the native of Smyrna, Del., averaged 18 points while shooting 50 percent from beyond-the-arc and 85 percent from the charity stripe. Men’s Lacrosse Picked 8th in CAC Preseason Poll

The Wesley College men's lacrosse team has been to finish eighth in the Capital Athletic Conference Preseason Poll which was announced on February 4. Salisbury was a near-unanimous selection to finish first with seven of nine first place votes, followed by York, Frostburg, Christopher Newport, St. Mary's, Mary Washington, Marymount, the Wolverines and Southern Virginia. Benedict Named to CAC Baseball Silver Anniversary Team

The 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year, former Wesley College shortstop Rob Benedict has been named to the CAC Silver Anniversary Team, it was announced by the league office on February 3. Entering its 25th year of varsity competition, the CAC selected a Silver Anniversary Team in 19 championship sports, primarily based on season-ending conference awards as voted by the conference coaches. Each Silver Anniversary Team will feature 25 former or current standouts.

Lawson Named ECAC South Rookie of the Week

Wesley College's JW Lawson has been named the eastern College Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Rookie of the Week for the South Region, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first weekly honor in Lawson's career. A freshman from Newark, Del., Lawson averaged 12.0 points and three steals while making 9-of-15 (60.0%) from the field.
