How to Apply for your Federal Loan On-line

First time borrowers of the Direct Student Loan Program at Wesley College MUST complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling on-line at www.studentloans.gov

To complete the Entrance Counseling:

1. Go to www.studentloans.gov.
2. Click the “Sign In” button and enter your information. (You will need your FAFSA PIN.)
3. Click “Complete Entrance Counseling.” (center of page)
4. Click “Complete Entrance Counseling” again. (center of page)
5. Undergraduates: Select “I am completing entrance counseling in order to receive loans as an undergraduate student.” Graduates: Select “I am completing entrance counseling in order to receive loans as a graduate or professional student.”
6. Once you have completed the counseling session you will receive a confirmation email. 

To complete the Master Promissory Note:

1. Go to www.studentloans.gov.
2. Click the “Sign In” button and enter your information. (You will need your FAFSA PIN.)
3. Click “Complete Master Promissory Note.” (center of the page)
4. Click “Subsidized/ Unsubsidized”; fill in all sections of the application completely.
5. You will be given three .pdf files to review  – you must open and review all three.
6. After you type your signature, you must click on the “Review Your Master Promissory Note” link.
7. Close the Master Promissory Note after reviewing, then click “Submit.”
8. You will see a message that reads “Congratulations on completing your Master Promissory Note.”
9. Once you have completed the MPN, you will receive a confirmation email.

YOU MUST COMPLETE BOTH STEPS TO RECEIVE YOUR LOANS. After you complete the Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note, a confirmation will automatically be sent to the College.
