Undergraduate Intramural Official
Intramural Officials are an integral part of the Intramural team and success of Intramural program at Wesley College. Students who are eligible for Federal Work Study and Wesley Work Ship are eligible for positions on the IM Staff. Great candidates who are not eligible for FWS or WWS are encouraged to apply for the position.

Position description:

  • Possess a high level of self-confidence, enthusiasm for intramural sports and recreation, and knowledge of Intramural sports rules, policies, and procedures
  • Possess knowledge of the mission and purpose of Wesley College Intramurals
  • Provide a comprehensive, consistent service to the Wesley Community by making ethical and fair calls during play, speaking loudly and confidently, respecting others’ autonomy, and work well with a team of people
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of facilities, keep accurate notes and records of information, ensure safety of Wesley Community members participating in Intramural games
  • Become knowledgeable with league rules and policies; use constructive criticism to improve upon officiating skills; learn and utilize conflict management and mediation skills
  • Facilitate small and large group discussions; act positively
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, training, and Captains meetings

Intramural League Coordinator
IM League Coordinators are involved in the daily operations of the IM team and carry tremendous responsibility by assisting in the supervision of Officials. Students ready for the next level of leadership are encouraged to apply for this position.

Position description (formerly the Student Manager Position):

  • Possess a high level of self-confidence, enthusiasm for intramural sports and recreation, and knowledge of Intramural sports rules, policies, and procedures
  • Possess knowledge of the mission and purpose of Wesley College Intramurals
  • Responsible for role modeling appropriate behavior, providing guidance and leadership to undergraduate student officials, assist with staff training
  • Responsible for creating league schedules, maintaining written documentation and records of league play, and
  • Acts as a representative of Intramural administrators and supervisors by facilitating small group discussion at Captains Meetings, and interacting with Captains through e-mail and other forms of electronic communication on a regular basis
  • Track accuracy of staff timesheets and submit monthly to Coordinator of Intramural Sports & Recreation
  • Update Facebook fan page regularly, utilize Microsoft Live, able to create detailed excel spreadsheets, and utilize various forms of technology.

Malmberg Fitness Center Student Assistant

Position Description:

  • Provide excellent customer service to members of the student body
  • Collect IDs from Wesley students wanting to utilize the facility
  • Provide equipment to Wesley community members as necessary, track equipment and activities center use, and ensure cleanliness and proper utilization of the facility
  • Be knowledgeable of Wesley College resources and student involvement opportunities and activities
  • Understand how to effectively use equipment in the fitness center as required 
  • Ensure the safety and security of Wesley Community by following Office of Student Life & WC policies and procedures
  • Act responsibly and professionally as a representative of the Intramural Sports & Recreation Staff
  • Maintain confidential information
  • Must be physically able to lift approximately 25 pounds of weight

Malmberg Fitness Center Student Manager

Position Description:

  • Provide excellent customer service to the student body
  • Assist in supervision and training of Student Assistants
  • Create staff schedule
  • Inventory equipment and track use of equipment
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper utilization of the facility.
  • Ensure safety and security of Wesley Community
  • Be knowledgeable of correct equipment layouts
  • Request supplies and updated equipment when necessary
  • Leave notes/reminders for Assistants when necessary
  • Check personal Wesley e-mail on a daily basis
  • Submit Weekly Reports and participate in weekly meetings
  • Assign projects to staff as necessary, follow up, ensure they’re submitting “quality” work (which may mean asking them to go back and do something a second or third time until it’s done correctly).
    • Follow up on projects…see how they’re doing, if they understand everything, if they are going to meet their deadline, etc.
  • Compile timesheets at the end of each month for submission to supervisor while ensuring accuracy
  • Additional, and specific, responsibilities as assigned
  • Maintain a minimum 2.3 GPA
  • Physically able to lift approximately 25 pounds of weight

Open Gym Student Assistant

Position Description:
