Academic Advising

Students must meet with their academic advisors to discuss, plan, and prepare class schedules for each semester.  It is each student’s responsibility to meet with the academic advisor by appointment at least once each semester to review their academic progress and prepare a list of classes for the next semester.  Students must complete all course requirements with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates and 3.0 for graduate students by the appropriate semester’s class end date, as indicated on the academic calendar.

Each entering graduate student at the New Castle campus is assigned an academic advisor by the chair of the student’s academic department. The advisor will work cooperatively with the graduate student to facilitate progression through the program to graduation. Advisors can be changed at the initiation of either the student or the faculty. The graduate student who selects the thesis or capstone project option for graduation will select an advisor with the program director’s approval.
